My introduction
Hey, guys. My name's Journeyman and I'm 25 years old. First off, I want to thank Sean and his guests for all the great advice I've gotten listening to the Menprovement podcast so far. It's very reassuring and has gotten me started on the journey to becoming a new, better man.

Here's a list of my problems/concerns:
- I'm a virgin. I've never had a girlfriend. I've never even kissed a girl. This is the first time I've admitted this to anyone. A year ago, I lied to my doctor when he recommended an STD checkup (given my age). He asked when I last had sex and I automatically answered: "a few weeks ago." Too ashamed to face him because I never did the check-up and I know it'll come up.

- Until age 22, I had actually never masturbated. I began doing so in Spring 2012 as I was finishing up my final year of university. About a month-and-a-half ago, I listened to MenProvement’s podcast episode on fapping and decided to try and stop. Since then, my record is 10 days but for some reason I can’t make it more than a week at a time since that first relapse. I’ve noticed that I usually relapse after a big disappointment, so I need to learn how to break that habit.

- I was always "the weird kid" growing up. To this day, I can't contribute to a good conversation and come across as naive. Think of it like this: if you guys are talking about politics, I don’t know enough to contribute. Same thing if you’re talking about music, cars, money and finances, locations, celebrities, real estate, travelling, various laws, practical life skills, etc. I can never make conversational observations about things because I just don’t know anything.

- I still don't drive. I get bad nerves when driving and can't make snap decisions. My common sense basically goes dead. I do have a learner's license and I'm training to take a road test sometime soon.

After doing some introspective thinking, I think what I want most in life is plain old respect. Every time I get aggravated, it's because I feel like people look down on me or think I'm immature. I want to be a respectable person that people can look up to.

Here's a short list of my goals:
- To get a girlfriend. Date: End of 2015
- To quit porn and never go back Date: ASAP
- To learn how to dress fashionably and affordably. Date: June 2015
- To create a diet that complements my exercise schedule and improves my overall performance. Date: May, 2015
- To launch my own website that gets at least 1000 unique visits per day. Date: November, 2015
- To try out kayaking, rock-climbing, and dancing as hobbies. Date: September, 2015
- To earn at least $65,000 per year. Date: December, 2015
- To get the novel I'm writing published. Date: December, 2015. (I'm 80% done the first draft)
- To be a great conversationalist who can talk about the most common subjects with authority and insight. Date: September, 2015
- To have a high degree of respect for myself, and from others. Date: January 2016

Thanks for reading! I've signed up for the Academy and look forward to starting and helping other guys out any way I can.

RE: My introduction
Welcome lad! Nice list too. One thing I may suggest about wimmin though... Don't go looking for love. Trust me. I have made that mistake twice in my life despite only being 29 and regretted it.

Work on your hobbies first more than anything as you seem to have A LOT of goals for this year alone! Ambition to improve your life is a great step though but it all takes time; trust me, I have been there Wink

Thanks, man. Yeah, it's a pretty ambitious year for me and one thing I've always had a problem with is not seeing things through to the end.
